Let me start off by saying I am giving the hotel 5 stars again BUT somethings have deteriorated and they are close to slipping back to 4 stars.
The staff are not as responsive as when the hotel was originally taken over. I get that staff move on but the new staff don't have that honest friendly feeling. Some of the management team are still their and they exhibit passionate, friendly connection in spades and is WONDERFUL. I am just not sure the younger staff have that capability. The restaurant by the pool is nice but outdone by the aptly named "Very Good Restuarant" just down the road.
Where we noticed the biggest drop off was in the breakfast. Once it was the best meal of the day and the variety and taste was amazing. They had a German chef who was very responsive but now with a different chef it is no better than a run of the mill, bland any other hotel breakfast. This is a real shame. When we left Pranburi we went to the W in Bangkok and immediately noticed the difference in quality and attention to detail with breakfast.
But the hotel is still good and definitely worth a visit. Still very beautiful.
